Just arrived home last night from another excursion to the Outer Banks Islands of North Carolina. This was just a two night stay to attend the giveaway at Conner's Market where I was picked for a drawing for a new HHR. Unfortunately, I did not win. Still, it was interesting to see what the villages are like in the winter. Very peaceful. I may start going down twice a year, taking a little vacation during the colder months. I stayed in a motel rather than a house this time, and the breakers coming in off the ocean were quite literally not thirty feet away from my door. The motel had this little wooden stairway-platform that went up over the dune, and by the second day it was cordoned off with caution tape, and by the time I left it was half in the sea. Further down the shore, where I usually stay, there was an extra hundred feet of beach going out into the Atlantic. Apparently it migrated down from further north. Ah, well ...
